Stillhouse Hollow Lake is located on the Lampasas River, southwest of Belton, Texas. The lake is also used as a recreational and wildlife area. Stillhouse Hollow Dam and the reservoir are both managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Most of the lake is man made and was officially impounded in 1968. It provides flood control, water supply and is a popular recreational destination. Fishing is one of the popular activities on the lake. Stillhouse Hollow Lake has been stocked with species of fish including smallmouth bass, largemouth basswhite bass, catfish, and crappie. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers also maintains recreational facilities at the lake. There are two parks near the lake, Dana Peak Park and Union Grove Park are both open to the public. Boating is also very popular with the lake goers.
